Asia Cup 2018
The Asia Cup 2018 will be hosted by UAE from 16-18 Sept 2018. The tournament will be played in ODI format. It will be the 14th edition of this tournament. UAE will host this tournament for the 3rd time after 1984 and 1995 tournaments. India is the defending champions.
Sri Lanka and India are the 2 most successful nation in the Asia Cup. India had won 6 times and Sri Lanka had won 5 times. The confirmed participants of this tournament are India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. The qualifiers will decide the last vacant spot. UAE, Singapore, Oman, Nepal, Hong Kong and Malaysia will battle for that one vacant spot in India from August 29 to September 6. The winner of this qualifier will join the big boys in Asia Cup.
However, India couldn’t host this tournament due to political tensions between India and Pakistan. Total six countries will participate in this tournament.
The tournament will has 2 venues.
|1||Dubai International Cricket Stadium||25,000||8 (including Final)|
|2||Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium||20,000||5|
However, the schedule is quite unfair for team India as they have 2 consecutive match (i.e on 18th and 19th Sept 2018).
|1||15 Sept 2018||Bangladesh Vs Sri Lanka||Dubai International Cricket Stadium|
|2||16 Sept 2018||Pakistan Vs Qualifier||Dubai International Cricket Stadium|
|3||17 Sept 2018||Afghanistan Vs Sri Lanka||Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium|
|4||18 Sept 2018||India Vs Qualifier||Dubai International Cricket Stadium|
|5||19 Sept 2018||India Vs Pakistan||Dubai International Cricket Stadium|
|6||20 Sept 2018||Afghanistan Vs Bangladesh||Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium|
Hence, the best will win and I wish luck to all the teams for this huge contest.
