ICC Cricket World Cup 2019

This ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 will be the 12th edition of this mega tournament. England and Wales will host this tournament from 30 May to 14 July 2019. Round-Robin and Knockout will be the tournament’s format. In the format, all the participants will be in a single group and each participant will play against every other participant once. After that, top 4 participants will qualify for the Semi-Finals and then Final.

In this world Cup 10 countries will participate and 48 matches will be played in total. The group stage contain 45 matches and the rest 3 matches are 2 Semi-Final and Final.

Furthermore, England and Wales will host the cricket world cup for fifth time. Before this, England and Wales hosted 1975, 1979, 1983 and 1999 World Cups. The first match of this world cup will be played in The Oval and the Final will be played at Lord’s.

Hence, this will be the first World Cup, in which all test playing nations and no Associate members are participating.

List of Qualifying Nations

In this world Cup less countries are participating as compared to previous editions. The host England and top 7 teams of ICC One Day International (till 30th September 2018) automatically qualifies for this mega tournament. The remaining 2 spots will be decided in the 2018 Cricket World Cup qualifiers.
